Pickup Schedule: Every Friday

Pickup Times Day-Of: Routes begin as early as 5am, sometimes even sooner and service times are always changing. Please put your carts out the night before.

• Holiday Delays: Service is delayed by a day during holidays if those holidays happen during a weekday. Calendar listed here.

• Weather Delays: We update our phone line, the banner at the top of this website, and send an email to all those who fill out the above form. Be sure to add admin@gretnasanitation.com to your address book so our email doesn’t go to junk.

Excess Material: Material outside of your can will not be collected. Additional carts available upon request

Yard Waste: We’re Composting It!

We collect it separately and compost it at our Soil Dynamics Composting Farm from April to November. During the off-season, we co-mingle it with your landfill materials. Only trees, grass, and compostable material, please. No plastic, glass, metal or other landfill material. $20 fee for contaminated yard waste carts. Want to purchase some of the soil? LANDFILL CART INSTRUCTIONS

• Place Carts At The Curb 3 Feet Apart: We use automated trucks, so in order to ensure they are emptied, please place them at the curb with the front of the cart facing the street.

• Please No Yard Waste in the landfill carts. A separate yard waste cart is included in your plan, just fill out the form to request it.

• Due to COVID-19, all material must be placed inside the carts. Anything outside of the carts will not be removed. We hope you understand!

• Extraordinarily large items that do not fit in a cart will be your personal responsibility.

Recycling

Yes, it gets recycled!

We collect recyclables separately and ensure they actually get recycled by sending them to the area’s top recycling center, First Star Recycling

Yard Waste: We compost it and it’s going to improve Nebraska’s soil

Many companies let you mix yard waste in with your landfill. While convenient, that means it’s going to the landfill and will put off methane gas for years to come. Instead, we have the Omaha Metro Area’s only industrial composting facility, so we collect yard waste separately and turn it into soil at our Ashland site, Soil Dynamics Composting Farm.

Here’s what we take:

• Only trees, grass, and plant material accepted, please

• No plastic, glass, metal or other landfill material
